About Me

My approach

My approach is integrative and is informed by evidence based CBT. This is the treatment of choice recommended by NICE guidelines for depression and anxiety.  My training enables me to work flexibly, drawing on a wide range of psychological theories and models and tailor treatment to each and every individual client. We will work together to explore your issues in a safe and confidential environment to resolve your issues and move forward.

Experience

For over 20 years I have worked with a range of adult patients with mental health issues including stress, anxiety, relationship and low mood in both NHS and private settings.  I also have specialist expertise in working with patients with medical problems. I have provided supervision to colleagues and trainees over many years.  My NHS experience includes working in primary care and clinical health psychology and I continue to work part-time in a diabetes outpatient setting.

Philosophy

As a Psychologist my thinking is holistic; making sense of the issues you bring in the context of home,  work and health. I will help you to understand how your thoughts, feelings and behaviour interacts with others around you. This new way of thinking aims to give you new perspectives to bring about change.
